Obituary of Vicki L Deets

 Vicki Lynne Deets went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 24, 2023. Vicki was born April 17, 1953 in Sterling the daughter of David and Nona (Loechel) Bushman. She attended Milledgeville School and Sauk Valley Community College. Vicki started dating Alan Deets in the summer of 1969. They continued together until October 6, 1973 when they were married at the the Milledgeville Brethren Church by Reverend James R. Black.

   Vicki accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age. She served in many capacities in the church including pianist, teacher, and deaconess. She especially enjoyed playing duets with Nancy Janssen on the organ. She was also a prayer warrior for her family, church, and community. 

   Vicki was a dedicated wife and mother. She was always willing (well maybe not always) to help where she could from homework, to driving the baler, to chasing cattle, because someone left a gate open, to being a carpool driver for the boys. In her free time she was employed by the Milledgeville State Bank for 30+ years. Vicki loved all her grandchildren, she finally had some girls to buy for and another boy to spoil.

   She is survived by her husband Alan of 50 years, two sons Jason (Mandi) Deets and grandson Dawson and Ryan (Sara) Deets and granddaughters Megan, Lucy, Sadie and Tessa; her mother Nona (John) Parks; one sister Vali (Keith) Miatke; two brothers Mike (Karen)  Bushman and Tom (Shannon) Bushman as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

   She was preceded in death by her father David Bushman and her grandparents.

   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Milledgeville Brethren Church, followed by burial at Bethel Cemetery, Milledgeville. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM at the church. A memorial has been established for the Milledgeville Brethren Church.
