Obituary of Glenda Mae Kaecker

   Glenda Mae “Sis” Kaecker, 66, of Amboy, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Thursday February 1, 2024.

   Sis was born April 9, 1957 in Dixon, the daughter of Glenn and Ella Mae (Owens) Troxell. She married William “Bill” Kaecker on April 10, 1973 in Dixon. Sis loved spending time with her family and friends, always the life of the party. She was undoubtedly the glue that held the family together. She enjoyed going to her cabin up north and fishing. 

   Survivors include her husband Bill of Amboy; two daughters, Amy (Steve) Yeschek of Hudson, Amber (Lon) Dixon of Dixon; one son, Corey (Dawn) Kaecker of Harmon; two sisters, Kay Brown of Harmon and Mary (Marvin) Finkle of Sterling; three brothers, Thomas (Gwen) Troxell of Walnut, Doug (Shirla) Troxell of Rock Falls and Gary Troxell of Dixon; seven grandchildren, Jake (Ashley) Kaecker, Lance (Taylor) Kaecker, Colin Kaecker, Dylan Messer, Hope Kaecker, Shane (Rachel) Dixon and Cody Latta; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Kaecker and Blaze Latta; several nieces and nephews and her special friend, Pat Moore.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ericka Ann; grandson, James William Kaecker;  two sisters, Patricia Richardson and Sharon Hudson; and five brothers, Donald, Robert, Steve, James and Ronald Troxell.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, February 5, 2024 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling with Pastor LeAnn Keate, officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM, prior to services.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Harmon.

   A memorial has been established.
