Susan D. Elsasser, 74, of Sterling died Friday, July 15, 2016 at her home, with her loving husband by her side. Susan was born November 28, 1941 in Sterling, the daughter of Donald G. and Mary R. Clark and married Robert E. Elsasser on November 4, 1957. Suz as she was known to those close to her (and mom) was a very private person, and known as a serious collector, for her amazing green thumb and impeccable backyard garden, and of course her forever perfectionist ways. Susan is survived by her husband and three children, Robert E. Elsasser Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Jeffery S. Elsasser of Carmichael, CA and Amy L. Elsasser (husband Scott Gonzalez) of Naperville, IL, her beloved Gizzy and Sassy, as well as her two bothers and one sister, Donald Clark Jr. (wife Sue) of Sterling, Michael Clark of Dixon, Nancy Ricci of Seattle, WA and a very close and special beloved niece, Mindy Clark Billings of Sterling and very dear and loved friend Judy Cogdall of Sterling, three grandchildren, Rachael and Kyle Elsasser of Carmichael, CA and one special grandson - J. Bishop Gonzalez of Naperville, IL. Susan was preceded in death by her parents. There will no service or funeral at Susan’s request and in lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Susan’s name to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund to be sent to Schilling Funeral Home P.O. Box 592, Sterling, IL 61081. Arrangements were completed by the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
