Obituary of Esther Guzzardo

Esther Guzzardo, 94, of Freeport, formerly of Rock Falls and Mt. Prospect, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Regency Health Care. Esther was born May 19, 1922 in Patoka IL, the daughter of H. Frank and Etta Mae (Clark) Crawford. She married Dr. Bennie Guzzardo on July 15, 1944 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1999. Survivors include two sons, John (Karol) Guzzardo of Sterling and David Guzzardo of Wauconda; one sister, Florence Ticknor of Sandoval; one brother, Luke (Barbara) Crawford of Odin; four grandchildren, Tony (Angela Myrvold) Guzzardo, Gabrielle (Jonathan) Viard, Terry (Abby) Cox and Amber (Luke) Hayen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie; three sisters, Kathryn Mayer, Ruth Crawford and Pauline Lutz and three brothers, Frank, Robert and Paul Dean Crawford. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at St. Raymond Catholic Church, 301 South I-Oka Avenue, Mt Prospect, IL . Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Tuesday at the church, prior to the funeral mass. Arrangements were completed by the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, the Guzzardo Family has asked that memorials be made to Hospice Of The Rock River Valley.
