I have a great memory of my brother Keric and I serving as an altar boys at MaryAnn and Jim's wedding. I remember it as a very different service than the many other weddings I had served at. Mary Ann smiled non-stop and Jim was actually very funny, even causing the priest to smile. We each then got a $2 bill for serving and I still have it! My mother and Mary Ann were lifelong friends and I was happy to be a small part in a very special day for them both.

Another special memory…… one night we headed to dinner and as I approached the light, it turned yellow. Since I was close, I decided to step on gas and go through instead of stopping quickly. As I sailed through the light, Mary Ann yelled “ coming through”! Now every time I need to go through a yellow light, I remember my dear, humorous friend and yell, “coming through!!
I hope you will think of her also at every yellow light in your future. A great way to honor such a special lady

Mary Ann Sheely was a precious light, who touched the hearts of many including mine.
I thoroughly enjoyed, and looked forward to hearing the stories Karen would share about Mary Ann. She lived life with humor, an example to all of us.
I never met Mary Ann and yet remain blessed by the life she lived. I am grateful.
Karen, please know you are in heart and prayer.

Mary Ann was a very special part of our Sterling St. Mary family. No task was too small for Mary Ann to volunteer for. Altar & Rosary was hosting a reception for meeting the financial goal to restore the church after extensive smoke damage. Mary Ann collected donated paper goods from parishioners that were left from past holidays and celebrations. The trunk to her car was stuffed with new and stored paper goods. What fun and laughter everyone had!
Mary Ann was very adamant about walking her dog everyday. She said it was exercise for both her dog and herself! We enjoyed visiting when she walked past our house.

I used to see Mary Ann frequently at 5:30 pm mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary. We would often visit before mass to share an observation or story. She was so gracious even when I interrupted her rosary. I might add that she had great style and was easily on of the best dressed women in church. I will miss her welcoming smile in the second pew on the right.

Loved my special dinners with my friend. One night we were sitting at the bar at Pizzology. When we asked for the bill, the bar tender told us that our bill had been paid. We looked at each other like this…..amazed. I said , we need to take a selfie and recreate our response. Such a special moment!!!

My mother was friends with Mary and spoke so fondly of her and her bubbly, fun personality. She will be greatly missed.
