My mother Florence (1903-1994) was a sister to Marjorie's father Arthur (1897-1921). My mother was almost 18 years old when Marjorie was born in 1921. Marjorie was the first grandchild for my grandparent, George and Josephine Alshouse. Their grandchildren came to be around 36. My mother referred to Marjorie as "Little Marjorie." She always smiled when she would mention Marjorie; thus, always remembering her fondly. A widow, my mother was for 20 years a clerk in downtown Dixon's JC Penney Store. That's where, I believe, that she and Marjorie saw each other most frequently. I presume that, with a large family, Marjorie must have shopped there occasionally. Some years ago I stopped to see Marjorie at the nursing home in Polo. I found her to be a very nice and pleasant woman.
