those 3 words could be a mantra that david stood for. there are many catchphrases ,slogans and acronyms that could symbolize the many faceted and admirable traits and qualities that david not only believed in but practiced and exhibited thru out his too brief life. not that more proof is needed but id like to share some insights and experiences i had growing up and living,,and learning and loving david. it is my hope they may illustrate what an unique individual and man david was. there are many memories and anecdotes growing up in a large family.good and bad. funny and serious.happy and sad. but they become a part of us,,who we are. and i wouldnt trade mine for anything. pardon my accuracy of family history as this was many decades ago,,but the first salient memory of david i have is a funny one in some aspects though i dont know what the current dcfs what think but it occurred when david was a toddler. we had piled into our car for an outing of some kind. this was a family of ten by now. they dont make cars ,,let alone houses for families that size ,at least in my circle. i can now imagine the ordeal it must have bee n to get everyone to fit inside, though at the time i didnt fathom it, i was just too concerned with getting that prized window seat. anyway off we went. someone,,one of my siblings suddenly said,,we forgot david, look! i looked back, out the back window and sure enough there was toddler david running east on 6 th street as we passed the mcginns house! well we stopped and a crying but im sure relieved david hopped in.probably to the worst seat in the house, standing room only ha. but he was were he wanted to be,, with his family. Another significant memory id like to share of david was of a more dire situation. m y wife Madelene s father had suddenly become seriously ill and we attempted to get there in time. we didnt make it in time but david sure came through. when we decided to remain there i called david and asked him if it was possible for him to move us out ,and into a garage he never hesitated. a whole household of stuff! him and great friends moved u s out absentia . and lastly when my father died,,tragically in very similar circumstances, the first person i called for was david. he came instantly. without hesitation. despite his own grief. with abuncance of care and love despite taking care of my dad thru out the illness. what a being. what a man. well i was a coward then. but i made it thru because of help from david. well, in closing,,and i am going to close. i know im verbose but please bear with me. when anita asked me to speak at davids service,,, i admit i was scared. whatwould i say? how would i say it? all those people! i was sad, at the very core of my being. but ,,i believe david once again helped me out. hes not done yet people,,impacting ,,helping ,reaching out to us in need. what a man he was and is.

I know that from here on out you will watch over him and be his guardian angel. I will keep your memory alive for him and always remind him what a wonderful man his Godfather was and is. i love you

Even though you have lost a loved one and you find comfort knowing he is at peace, it takes time to let go. Talk often of your beloved son, Father and husband and find comfort in remembering him and all the wonderful times you had with him. God bless you all.

Anita and girls, please accept this heart felt condolence through this email. Since we now live in Indiana, we will not be able to pay our respects in person. I was so saddened to hear the news of Dave's passing. Too young and too much life ahead of him! I know you find a little comfort to know that he is at peace now and no longer is suffering, but it can't fill the emptiness you are feeling. We were certainly lucky to have known such a great guy! You all are in our prayers at the trying time. God bless you all and keep you safe! Thinking of you, Brett, Sue, Breanne & Logan Knowles
